taking care of our planet

It is a fact that in the XXI century we face many challenges. As well as migration, economic, and social problems, we should also take more care of our planet. Yesterday, we dedicated the whole day to considering and discussing environmental justice as a value of the future.

In the first workshop we recreated a political debate in the which we discussed the pros and cons of building a nuclear power plant in an imaginary country. My role in it was to judge the parties' ideas, trying to stick only to what was said during the activity.

Having in mind the Chernobyl accident and so many other catastrophes related to this type of power plant, it was difficult to stay unprejudiced but because of my role it was necessary to be unbiased.

After that, we worked in small groups, and our facilitators talked about water, food, consumerism and energy to create a base for the next workshop, where we would have a design and sketch an entire city of the future. In order to do this, Giulia prepared for us a presentation about the future of urbanism and sustainable architecture. I truly enjoyed this part of the activities, since I had never heard of this term before.

" As well as migration, economic, and social problems, we should also take more care of our planet. "

For this reason, planning a city of tomorrow, and implementing all of those ideas, was a lot of fun. To end the day we went to the forest, to remind ourselves of the wonders of nature and get to unravel the beauty of Imst a bit more, too.”
